The Professional Mid-Range — What You Get
The R6 Mark III is Canon's most capable mirrorless camera below the R5 Mark II. The spec list reads like a professional camera from three years ago at twice the price: up to 8.5-stop IBIS, 40fps RAW burst with pre-continuous shooting, 7K 60p RAW and oversampled 4K 60p, dual card slots (CFexpress Type B + SD), weather sealing, and Canon's latest subject-tracking AF.
Who buys it: wedding photographers moving off DSLRs, sports and event photographers who need the burst depth and AF reliability, and videographers who want Canon colour science without committing to cinema camera ergonomics. Common Questions
The Mark III moves from 24.2MP to 32.5MP, adds 7K RAW video, a CFexpress Type B slot, a deeper RAW buffer with pre-continuous shooting, and stronger IBIS (up to 8.5 stops). Both bodies shoot 40fps electronic and 12fps mechanical. If you shoot fast subjects or video heavily, the Mark III is a meaningful upgrade. For portrait and wedding photographers who do not need 40fps, the Mark II remains excellent and currently sells well below its MRP (both bodies carry the same MRP).
Canon has significantly improved thermal management in the Mark III. For 4K 60p, continuous recording times are substantially longer than the Mark II. For normal event and documentary work, overheating is not a practical concern. Extended 4K 60p in a hot, unventilated environment will eventually trigger a thermal warning.
The RF 24–105mm F4–7.1 IS STM is a lightweight consumer zoom — good image quality, compact, and affordable. The RF 24–105mm F4L IS USM is a professional L-series lens — sharper across the frame, better build quality, weather sealed, and constant F4 aperture throughout the zoom range. The L-series costs roughly ₹72,000 more. For professional work, the L lens is worth it.
